OUR SERVICES AND FACILITIES
Laureston House is set over 3 floors with 2 staircases and lift access to all 3 floors. The home offers accommodation for up to 21 residents. We have 13 single occupancy bedrooms and 4 double bedrooms. All rooms are fitted with an alarm call system which are in operation 24 hours a day.There are 8 toilets throughout the home. There are also 2 bathrooms, 1 being a wet room which allows us to offer a full range of bathing facilities that suit all of our resident’s needs.
Laureston House also comprises of a large communal lounge and dining area. Throughout, Laureston House has a warm and friendly atmosphere. We welcome any prospective resident and their families the opportunity to visit Laureston to access the suitability of the facilities and services we offer.
At Laureston we understand that dementia can be a daunting and distressing experience for both residents and their families. Because of this, all our care staff are trained in dementia awareness and are on hand to support residents and make the transition to us as easy as possible by providing specialist care within a dementia friendly environment.
If you choose to stay with us at Laureston we will undertake a full assessment covering a range of health and social needs in order to put into place the best care plan to meet your individual needs. We offer both short and long term care as well as respite and day care. We have no minimum stay period and welcome both KCC and Private Residents.
LOUNGE
The large, relaxing lounge has a sunny outlook with wide patio windows which give access to a south facing balcony with views over Dover town. Within the lounge there is an area located for various activities. These activities vary on a daily basis and include dominoes, cards, puzzles, bingo, discussing the daily news and reminiscing.
DINING
The well-lit dining room leads out onto the patio area which overlooks the garden. In the summer or when the weather permits, residents can enjoy a barbeque or just relax outdoors under the gazebo.
All our meals are freshly prepared and cooked by our house cook using fresh produce. As a result we are able to cater for any dietary requirements our resident might have. We regularly change our menu to offer a variety of choice to our residents.
ROOMS
All our rooms are well decorated and comfortably furnished. Residents are welcome to incorporate items of their own and have their own choice of décor.
There are TV points in every room and high level power points for easy reach.
Temperatures are thermostatically controlled. The wash basins have specifically designed taps for easy use and are complete with vanity units. Each room is fitted with call bells which can only be turned off in the room where the call was made. The home has an integral fire alarm system with smoke detectors in every room.
BATHROOM
Our recently refurbished bathroom and wet-room allows us to offer our residents more choice when it comes to our bathing facilities. Whether it be a nice soak in the bath or a shower we aim to meet our residents individual preferences and needs.
WET ROOM
A lift with a four person capacity provides easy access to all 3 floors including the bathroom and wet room allowing easy access for disabled residents.
